Lt. Michael Behenna released...FINALLY!

Publisher's note:  Perhaps because the eyes of the world are and have been focused back and forth between the heated situation in the Ukraine and the as yet unknown fate of 239 souls aboard Maylasia Flight 370, barely a word has been spoken about the answered prayers and release of wrongfully imprisoned US Army Lt. Michael Behenna.

However, it finally happened yesterday afternoon.  No fanfare, no crowd of reporters, no ticker tape parade, nor a single yellow ribbon just outside the grounds of Ft. Leavenworth, TX; only the family and girlfriend of this American hero that was sent to war and punished by an administration that is focused on appeasing our enemies at all costs.  In the end, I doubt this young man was interested in seeing anyone else anyway.

The Patriots Press salutes Lt. Michael Behenna; your story of strength and forbearance through one of the many unimaginable military nightmares in our recent history is one all Americans can look up to.  You held your head high and finished this chapter of your life with honor.  God Bless you Lieutenant. Michael Behenna.

The Oklahoman:  FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Nervous energy coursed through the Behenna family Friday morning as they waited in a parking lot just outside the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth. The ominous walls of the historic military prison loomed behind them as they scanned a nearby street for a white van.

“He’s supposed to come from that way,” Vicki Behenna said pointing east toward the main prison entrance. “But who knows with this place. He could come from anywhere.”

Just then, a white van approached on a side road from the opposite direction, turned into the lot and crawled to a stop in front of the small group of supporters.

A young uniformed woman stepped from the driver’s seat. After checking the family’s identifications, she turned and retreated to the back of the van and opened the doors. After serving five years in prison for the 2008 killing of an Iraqi man, former U.S. Army 1st Lt. Michael Behenna emerged to the cheers of his family.
