Well, here it is, my much anticipated, if a little late, list of selections for the upcoming election and races in my immediate area where I vote. While some of the choices were difficult, others were no brainers, and I believe that both of my readers will find the list in keeping with my views.  

I didn’t cover every race because in the end, I am not familiar with every candidate in every race, and while I’m an Independent, I just don’t know many of the democrats in races where there are no other choices.  The best I can offer about those races is to do some homework and choose the one whose stances you find least offensive.

Races, Selections, and Reasons…

US Senator: Marco Rubio.  I have never been a fan of Sen. Rubio really, but the reality is that he will be the Republican Candidate and will face off against the very liberal and leftist Patrick Murphy in an already very close race.  Under no set of circumstances should Patrick Murphy be allowed to remain in Washington.

US Rep. Dist. 18: Brian Mast.  Few candidates have ever had my confidence and respect like Brian Mast does.  We need him in DC.

Fl. State Rep #85: Andrew Watt.  In reality, I don’t know Mr. Watt, however this selection is based on the opinions of people I trust.

Rep State Committeeman:  Tough choice between Joe Budd and Peter Feaman.  I know both of these very honorable, decent men and I only wish they both could serve.  Either of them will be fantastic.  

Circuit Court Judge, Group 1:  Robert Ostrov.  I don’t know Mr. Ostrov, but I have heard a lot of good stuff about him from those I trust.

PBC Sheriff:  Roscoe Sessa.  Ric Bradshaw has just become too controversial and at very least gives the impression of corruption.  For my money, he needs to retire.  It’s time for a change, and I believe Mr. Sessa will shake things up in that department.

Property Appraiser:  Dorothy Jacks.  I don’t know much about Dorothy, but Shelley Vana has been on the public payroll far too long.

Supervisor of Elections:  Christine Spain.  For my money, Susan Bucher should not be allowed the public trust at any level, let alone such an important role.

Question #4:  No!  If for no other reason, it reads like just another convoluted government over-reach, and a way to increase taxes.

President of the US:  Donald Trump.  As I’ve said many times, I don’t really believe anyone with any team can pull us out of the mess we are in, however if it is possible, Donald Trump is the only one that can.  His opponent deserves to be in jail, and I hope that he directs his DOJ to go after her and several others from the current regime.  That would certainly help re-instill some much needed confidence in government.

As most people who know me well can tell you, I like most sports, but I’m not what you’d call a regular, diehard fan of any team or sport.  Having said that, I must admit that being from Boston originally, I do enjoy seeing the Patriots win; but I digress.  

The reason I decided to dust off my keyboard today was to discuss the situation at the “Hall of Fame Game.”  Apparently, someone used the wrong kind of paint and the field has been rendered unsafe to play on.  They are investigating and trying to find out who is responsible; “Big Football,” as well as much of the nation has their collective underwear all bunched up over this “tragedy.”  Untold millions of dollars will be lost, game parties will have to be cancelled, and who knows how many tons of Doritos and other snacks will go to waste..?  When they do find the culprit, he/she/they will be publicly embarrassed and ostracized, and no doubt be looking for employment the next day.  

And that all sucks…!

I actually have a lot of empathy to the grounds keeping department because as egregious as this may be in the world of Football and Sports, it pales in comparison to the state of our nation and world, and I really wish that more people would talk about and stay focused on that.

I also cannot help but notice the extreme lopsided nature of this reality; we now have some grounds crew people that are going to be hurting soon and almost certainly fired while at the same time we have a candidate for president whose crimes are too numerous to list all of them in this space, the gravity of which affects each and every one of us and our families.  

A woman who abandoned our people in Benghazi and lied to their grieving family members; who is behind rigged elections, who collaborates with known enemies for personal gain; who is at the top of one of the biggest criminal organizations, (the Clinton Foundation) in recent history; who the FBI director said did a lot of things that were wrong but he wouldn’t suggest she be prosecuted; who put every single American in jeopardy with those same casually handled emails, then and in the future, whether she is elected or not.

The cancellation of this game tonight disappointed a lot of people, but no one was or will be hurt, however Hillary Clinton is running on a very dangerous political football field for the ultimate end zone run; and if she scores, a lot of people will be hurt for generations.

America, it’s time to stay focused, clear the political football field, and see justice served on this enemy of the state and her team. 

As I’m wont to do, I’ve been looking around the political scene a lot lately and I thought I’d put my thoughts together regarding who will become the forty-fifth president and find themselves with the unenviable, next to impossible task of cleaning up the staggering mess left by number forty-four and some of his predecessors.

I see the choice we are left with very simple really; and I look at it through two different sets of lenses.  The first lens is my secular side as follows.

For the most part, except in some cases to make note of when some of the candidates exited the race, and then only on various social media, I didn’t have much to say about the election during the primaries.  Now that that circus is in the rear view mirror, the race is down to a manageable size and I can focus on the two remaining choices.

Since Hillary is almost certainly going to be the Democrat nominee, that is to say except in the very unlikely event that she is actually brought to justice this summer which would effectively end her campaign, I won’t even mention her equally bad, if not worse, socialist opponent Sen. Sanders again.

Besides the two real candidates, there is one other that few have ever heard of, but who seems to enjoy being a spoiler in the race just to take a few votes from the other candidates.  I actually met him during the last election cycle in a small group setting and asked him a couple of simple questions; one of which, a question about the use of Sharia Law in the US, he blatantly tried to dodge.  When pressed, he made a complete ass of himself with a nonsensical and un-informed reply to which the gathering started just groaning and shouting at him.  I might add, my friend Tom Trento of The United West caught his lack of knowledge on video the next day which you can view here.

I will not give him publicity by mentioning his name; only that he is running as a Libertarian and it is only a matter of time to see which of the real candidates he affects the most.  Although, he’ll probably hurt Clinton more for which I thank him.     

Moving on to the real candidates; on the Democrat side we have a woman, a political machine really, who if not for the fact that she is married to a former president, dubious as he was and continues to be, in my humble opinion, nobody would have ever heard of her except that maybe her criminal activities might have been the basis of a crime show. 

In any case, I think it only fair to write a brief resume highlighting some of her worst stuff, so that I’m not accused of just despising her for no real reason.  There is obviously a whole lot more.

The "nevertrump" campaign was launched by a super PAC created with the sole purpose of keeping Trump from being the GOP nominee, and if for any reason they fail, their goal is to prevent him from being elected the next President.

Established on January 14, 2016, "Our Principles PAC" was created by Katie Packer as an anti-Donald Trump super PAC. Packer was Mitt Romney's deputy campaign manager in 2012. Packer is also a founding member of Burning Glass, an Alexandria-based Republican consulting firm. According to FEC documents, Jamie Jodoin is listed as the treasurer and custodian of records. Jodoin is a political accounting specialist for the Tampa-based accounting firm, Robert Watkins & Company.

In March 2016, Tim Miller, former Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush's spokesman, was hired by Our Principles as the super PAC's communications director.

Politico reported that Our Principles leadership, Brian Baker and Katie Packer, and its 168 members, all delegates at the Republican National Convention in July 2016, will make an argument against Donald Trump's possible nomination before Republican National Committee officials during their spring meeting.

Katie Packer is the brain behind the TV campaign ad with quotes from women that portrays Trump as sexist, these same ads are being used by democrats.

The super PAC's top donor is the owner of the Chicago Cubs, the top 5 donors are all hedge fund and capital investment firms.  I think it's safe to say that this is an establishment Super PAC.

No doubt they've been successful in their campaign, the question is....what is their real motivator?

Granted that Trump has given them plenty of material to be spun and twisted, please forgive me if I tend to not trust anything created by establishment pundits....mainly when it comes with a price tag of $75 million to stop someone after they've done nothing during the last 7 years.

Somehow it just doesn't seem sincere to me.
