"Goonions hate Freedom"

Written by Tim Dunkin on . Posted in Guest Articles

What do unions want the most, and therefore hate losing the most?  If you guessed “money,” then based on that alone, you have good insight into what drives much of American politics. Unions love money.  Unions especially love taking money out of workers’ paychecks involuntarily when they can do so under color of the law.  This is why unions absolutely hate news stories like this one,

“The 2011 state law that all but ended collective bargaining for most public workers has hit Wisconsin’s second largest union particularly hard.

“The latest tax documents available show combined income of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) dropped 45 percent in 2012 — the first full year of the law, according to The Capital Times.

“In 2011, the four councils that make up the state organization reported a combined income of $14.9 million. In 2012 that dropped to $8.3 million. Dues revenue dropped 40 percent to $7.1 million.”

What has hit unions in Wisconsin so hard is the part of the 2011 law that Walker shepherded through the Republican-controlled state legislature that allows workers to refuse to “donate” funds from their paychecks to the unions.  In essence, this law helped Wisconsin to take another step towards becoming a right-to-work state – one in which workers themselves are free to choose whether or not to join a union shop.  Many workers in Wisconsin were using their newfound freedom to stop the union bloodletting from their paychecks.

Unions hate worker freedom.  Despite the chest-thumping propaganda that unions “saved the worker in America,” the fact is that unions represent a business/labor model that simply is not relevant to our economy today.  This, as much as the increased prevalence of right-to-work laws, is why they are dying out.  Instead of adapting to the times, unions generally seek to freeze in place the sort of rust-belt economic model that peaked in the 1950s – which is a great example of the typical intellectual bankruptcy that is rife throughout liberalism.  Part of this effort involves trapping workers in union shops were the union will “represent” them at the price of extorted dues taken out of their hard-earned paychecks.  Obviously enough, the unions have a vested interest in forcing as many workers as possible to contribute.  After all, expensive cigars and Cadillacs for the union bosses aren’t cheap.

Homo Liberalis: A Field Guide to Identifying Liberals in the Wild

Written by Tim Dunkin on . Posted in Guest Articles

Publisher's note:  Tim Dunkin has hit the nail on the head once again with this creative, spot on, and very amusing description of the various liberal species.  So sit back, pour yourself a cuppa joe, and enjoy.

Tim Dunkin:  Zoologists have long been fascinated by the species Homo Liberalis, known widely by its non-scientific designation as the Wild North American Yellow-Bellied Liberal.  This species, found all across North America, differs somewhat from its more successful European cousins.  Though widely considered a pest creature by farmers, small business owners, and taxpayers, this species has nevertheless garnered the interest of scientists seeking to study it in its natural habitats.

The best way to study homo liberalis is in the wild.  Indeed, it is considered detrimental to try to domesticate this species or to import it into your own habitat, due to the destructive and corrupt tendencies it displays.  As with any wild animal, caution is recommended when interacting with liberals. This species can be very unpredictable if you do not know how to handle it properly.  Under no circumstances should the field observer ever voluntarily allow homo liberalis near a voting booth.

It is our hope that, by heeding the instructions and advice of this field guide, your experience of observing homo liberalis from a distance will prove to be instructive and rewarding.  Despite its many shortcomings, this species can be highly entertaining, and indeed, in many cases individual liberalis can provide hours of amusement as they are observed in their natural habitats.  Below are listed several of the most common subspecies of homo liberalis that you will encounter in the wild.  This is not, of course, an exhaustive listing of the wide variety that can be found among this species.

Homo Liberalis Marxistus

Habitat: Washington D.C., Ottawa, all the United States and Canadian provincial capitals, New York City, and Humanities Departments at Universities all across the continent.

Marxistus is considered by many zoologists, as well as many individuals within this subspecies itself, as being the most primitive and “pure” of all the homo liberalis subspecies.  Indeed, the other subspecies of liberals appear to genetically derive from marxistus.  This subspecies is most commonly found wherever political power is concentrated.  Taxpayer monies appear to be one of the primary sources of sustenance for marxistii.  This invasive subspecies exhibits a ravenous appetite and will aggressively seek other food sources when it exhausts its current supplies.

Many liberologists who observe marxistii in the wild have noted that this subspecies will often engage in swarming behavior similar to that seen with termite infestations.  Individual marxistii will serve as “scouts,” establishing themselves within the architecture of a university, political party, or other territorial unit.  These scouts will them chemically signal to other marxistii who then can invade the new nesting ground with little resistance.  In this way, marxistus propagates without ever having to build anything for itself.

When making observations of marxistus in the field, certain precautions must be taken.  It is wise to keep your wallet on a chain, or even not to bring it on safari, due to the marxistus habit of picking pockets.  Be careful not to anger marxistii which occupy positions within government – while not a direct physical threat, marxistus is still capable of ruining your day using their bureaucracy stink glands.  If you should find yourself the object of marxistus attention in the wild, expect to be the target of a regulatory charge – therefore, it is highly recommended that you do not encourage marxistus by overfeeding it.

Orwell's 1984...thirty years late

Written by Imre Beke on . Posted in Guest Articles

Publisher's note:  In case you missed it, NY Governor Cuomo has declared all out war on anyone that doesn't agree with him and leftist ideology in general.  His recent comments have made the rounds mostly under the radar of the sleeping masses, however, those of us who are awake do indeed take umbrage to those comments and the underlying thinking.

Mr. Imre Beke has once again merged thought with paper, and in only a few very understandable paragraphs, points out the grossly flawed thinking of the Governor and his ilk.  Indeed, such thinking of the left is exactly why so many escaped tyranny in Europe, and is exactly why we declared independence from a tyrant named King George.

Imre Beke:  In his famed novel "1984," George Orwell warned us that Government will seek ever increasing and corrupt extents and forms of power for the single minded purpose of complete control of the populace:

"Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing."

History has proven him absolutely correct in his characterization. He was only wrong about one thing: timing. The dictatorship did not come upon us in 1984, but it is rapidly approaching three decades later, in 2014.

A perfect case in point is New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's declaration that New York is now an exclusionary ghetto. Cuomo stated in a radio interview that "If they are extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York..." He further defined "extreme conservatives" as those who are "right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gay..."

Cuomo has essentially drawn a political wall as solid as that which surrounded West Berlin for decades. He has declared war on those New Yorkers who oppose his policies and pronounced to the world his intention to force them out of his State. In the 1981 cult classic "Escape From New York," the entire island of Manhattan becomes the world's biggest maximum security prison. Andrew Cuomo seems intent on going one better by turning the State of New York into a gulag which would make the old Soviet oligarchy envious.

The problem is not that his remarks are offensive. The problem is not even that they are anti-freedom. The problem is that his comments are a trial balloon by the American Left to see whether they can re-define the roles of politicians vis-a-vis the voters.

America began her existence as a combination refugee camp and prison. Colonies like Georgia were established for purposes of exiling criminals. Other colonies - such as Maryland and Pennsylvania and the first settlements in modern day Massachusetts - came into being as safe havens for those whose religious beliefs did not match those of the official Church of England. Puritans, Quakers, Catholics and others fled Great Britain to the New World because this continent had become a place where everyone could believe as they wished - both politically and religiously - without fear of persecution. Despite that ignominious start, the Colonies quickly became the one place on Earth where individual freedom had true value.

Roe v Wade, 41 years later...better options

Written by Josie Weeks Elliot on . Posted in Guest Articles

Publisher's note:  One week from today, January 22, 2014 marks the 41st anniversary of what is arguably one of the darkest days in the history of the Supreme Court.  It was the day that with a 7 - 2 majority, the horror of abortion was deemed a choice.  Since then, over 54 million babies have been destroyed.

To commemorate this devastating ruling, millions of Americans nationwide will join hands in solidarity to pray, fast, and hope that this travesty can one day be reversed.

In her excellent article, Josie Weeks-Elliot describes the day and some of the options available to women faced with a monumental decision.

Josie Weeks-Elliot:  Every day the fight for life in this country rolls on.  Pro-life warriors are always praying, protesting, and reaching out to help women that feel scared, pressured, and alone to offer practical help; but January 22, 2014 is a very significant day.  This is the day we have our Annual March For Life event.

It is the Pro-Lifer’s chance to take a stand in the decision of Roe vs. Wade in 1973.  On this day, believers around the nation and around the world will be taking to tweeting and facebooking about abortion.

We are encouraging the majority of the GOP to continue their stance to fight abortion, and also to continue praying with us.  People from every Christian denomination will join hands to pray, have forums, fast, and discuss what more can be done; Baptist, Catholics, Pentecostals, you name it, and also those who are Non-Denominational.

A child is a gift from God, and even if the gift may not be something you desired, you always have a choice to give someone else that gift.  Destroying that gift should not be an option!  Not only are there health risks involved afterwards, studies show there are some women who never recover from the emotional trauma that follows them the rest of their lives.

'Big Gay' not so big anymore?!

Written by Tim Dunkin on . Posted in Guest Articles

Publisher's note:  Mr. Dunkin is an occasional contributor to The Patriots Press.  In this very well thought out article, he brings up and solidifies some valid points that I recently discussed concerning how the homosexual lobby, "Big Gay" as he calls it, has forced their way into society through various methods including legislation, social media, etc.  I believe those methods are being used by child predators in order to somehow gain cultural acceptance.

Tim Dunkin:  Recent events have not been kind to the radical homosexual lobby and its efforts to impose “homo-normalization” onto America.  For years, Big Gay has given the appearance of being an unstoppable juggernaut as it rolled from one court victory to the next, leaving behind it a wreckage of ruined lives of people who had the temerity to not show enough deference to the gay agenda.  Yet, there are a few recent signs that this might be changing.  It brings up the question, “Are average, everyday Americans finally tired enough of being bullied, hectored, accused, attacked, shouted at, threatened, and otherwise hounded by groups like GLAAD and other radical homosexual elements in our popular and political cultures that they’re finally willing to openly oppose it?”  While the jury is still out on whether it will be a flash in the pan or the start of a trend, the answer seems to be “Yes.”

Hints were seen as early as the middle of 2012, when the Christian-owned and operated fast food company Chick-Fil-A came under attack from the homofascists because it’s president – an evangelical Christian – had the temerity to state that he opposed gay marriage.  For simply stating a personal belief based upon his deeply-held religious convictions, Big Gay declared war and determined to destroy his company.  Boycotts and protests were staged.  But the radical gay bullies were mightily surprised when on August 1, designated “Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day,” millions of Americans flooded restaurants all across America (even in supposedly bright blue states like Massachusetts and California).  Meanwhile, the homosexual activist counter-protests fizzled, and indeed were such embarrassing failures that organizers had to reset their protest dates before finally just letting them quietly fade away.

The most recent homo-fascist effort at silencing dissent and suppressing the free speech of those who disagree with them came last month when GLAAD and other organizations tried to coerce A&E into firing Phil Robertson, patriarch of the family at the center of that network’s popular show Duck Dynasty over his disagreement with homosexuality expressed in a completely unrelated venue.  At the time, I wrote about the affair and wondered if this would end up being yet another fold to the gay lobby, or if freedom of speech and religion would win a rare victory.  Events since that time have shown this to be the case.  There was a massive outpouring of support for the Robertson family, their Duck Commander line of paraphernalia sold out all across the country, companies like Cracker Barrel that appeared to be throwing the Robertsons under the bus saw quick and powerful backlashes, and A&E saw the light and took Phil Robertson off of his “indefinite hiatus” that was supposed to be his punishment for crime-think.  GLAAD and other left-wing agitation groups received a black eye from the whole matter.
