Hickory, Dickory, Dock, the Nuke ran up the Clock...

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Publisher's note:  Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock...Boom?!  The 'Doomsday' Clock is not something we hear about everyday; and I'm sure a lot of people would like to forget it exists...but it does!  Every year since 1947, the strength of the world's arsenals and potential natural calamities are compiled and examined.  They are studied so that 'they' can maybe determine how close we are to 'Midnight;' that being the end of the world.  Either by our hand, Mother Nature, or perhaps Judgement Day itself.

In any event, the minute hand has moved two notches closer to midnight and now sits at 11:55.  There's not a lot that you and I, we of the masses, can do about the ever ticking clock.  All the politicizing about climate change of the linked article aside, no one with half an ounce of common sense doesn't realize that we are at a major crossroads in world history.  Heck, a bunch of years ago, R.E.M. wrote a song about it.

The End, prophesied millennia ago, is very near folks, and we can kid ourselves all we want, however we are not in control of the final outcome.  We'll bring it close, of that I have no doubt, and we may even toss a few nukes around before it's all said and done.  However, in the end, He and He alone will decide how this unfolds.  I pray that you are right with Him before that day comes.

Fox News:  The hands of the infamous "Doomsday Clock" will remain firmly in their place at five minutes to midnight — symbolizing humans' destruction — for the year 2013, scientists announced Monday.

Keeping their outlook for the future of humanity quite dim, the group of scientists also wrote an open letter to President Barack Obama, urging him to partner with other global leaders to act on climate change.

The clock is a symbol of the threat of humanity's imminent destruction from nuclear or biological weapons, climate change and other human-caused disasters. In making their deliberations about how to update the clock's time this year, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists considered the current state of nuclear arsenals around the globe, the slow and costly recovery from events like Fukushima nuclear meltdown, and extreme weather events that fit in with a pattern of global warming.

Holocaust Memorial desecrated by neo-nazis in Berlin

Written by Arutz Sheva on . Posted in World News

Publisher's note:  As the world sits idly by, the rise in anti-semitism is on the rise and getting worse.  This cannot be ignored.

Arutz Sheva:  Following a report by Arutz Sheva on the mass-desecration of Berlin's famous Holocaust Memorial by hoards of drug hooligans, which sparked international outrage, a veteran Berlin Parliamentarian and anti-extremism campaigner has expressed his outrage at the incident and vowed to protect the memorial - personally if necessary.

The Holocaust memorial consists of thousands of rectangular gray concrete monoliths - metaphors for the graves of six million Jews who perished during the Nazi genocide - and covers an area not much smaller than Trafalgar square in London.

In the shocking footage recorded below, a group of hooligans can be seen climbing and jumping on the monoliths, lighting firecrackers, urinating and defecating onto the memorial itself.

Erol Özkaraca, a Social-Democratic member of the Berlin State Chamber of Deputies for the district of Neuköln told Arutz Sheva that he was surprised at the lack of attention the incident received in Germany itself.

"I am very surprised the German media has not covered this yet, that no German journalists reported on it," he remarked. "What happened was absolutely disgusting. If the police don’t do something, I will, if necessary, work to organize an initiative of citizens to peacefully protect the memorial; I will go there myself and stand there and protect it should that be necessary."

Karzai flipping US the bird

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Publisher's note:  In yet another epic failure of US Foreign Relations, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has informed us that his government is going to release 72 prisoners that we consider to be security threats.  Frankly, I'm shocked!  After all the Chai Tea we drank with him and his minions; who would have thought?

Fox News:  Afghan President Hamid Karzai said the country is going to release all but 16 of 88 prisoners considered a security threat by the United States.

In a statement Thursday, Karzai says that a review of the prisoners' cases by Afghan intelligence and judicial officials turned up no evidence of wrongdoing for 45 of the detainees. Karzai says there was insufficient evidence on another 27 and that they must be released.

The U.S. is strongly opposed to their release because it says the prisoners have been involved in the wounding or killing of U.S. and coalition troops, Reuters reported.

The issue has been a sticking point in Afghan-U.S. relations as the two sides struggle to agree on a framework for the withdrawal of American and allied forces by the end of next year and the aftermath. Last week, a group of U.S. senators met Karzai in Kabul to warn him that release of the 88 detainees from the Parwan Detention Facility "would be a major step backward" for U.S.-Afghan relations.

Dennis Rodman...failed diplomacy

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Pulbisher's note:  Note to Dennis Rodman.  Are you out of your mind?!  Have you begun believing all of the nonsense you surround yourself with?!  Do you somehow see yourself as a brilliant army of one that knows better than the rest of the entire world that at least one of your 'close' associates is nothing less than a communist despot, a vicious, evil man, and a blood thirsty murderer?!

Mr. Rodman, normally, I'd say "with all due respect," however I don't respect you; you are a fool, a headline grabbing tool, and you are completely out of touch and out of your league.

Please do America and the world a huge favor, and disappear.  Go on a retreat, maybe a Safari, or even visit Antarctica and get stuck on an ice flow.  But do anything that keeps you out of the realm of politics, or the limelight.

You have become more of a buffoon, more of a laughing stock, and little more than a shadow of your former less than stellar self.  Would you please just go away, maybe buy a charter boat and offer fishing trips?  Please?!  We are so sick of your exhausting nonsense!

Fox News:  Dennis Rodman may think he and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un are best buddies, but escapees of the Hermit Kingdom say the oddball NBA Hall of Famer is more doormat than diplomat.

“You think Kim Jong Un is your friend, but he is just using you,” Jo Jin Hye, a North Korean refugee who has become a human rights advocate working with U.S.-based North Korea Freedom Coalition and is founder of NKinUSA told FoxNews.com in a message directed at Rodman.

“He’s friendly with you just so he can mislead his people,” she said. “He wants to make them think that the outside world accepts their leader.”

Bibi's watching...Hamas and Iran warned

Written by Arutz Sheva on . Posted in World News

Publisher's note:  It looks as if Hamas and Iran are merely biding their time, and it also looks as if Israeli PM Bibi Netanyahu is becoming seriously annoyed with both of them.  Time will tell, however I believe that the situation is nearing the boiling point.

Arutz Sheva:  Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu delieverd a threatening message to Hamas and probably to Iran, too, on Thursday, although he specifically mentioned only the former.

"The secret operations that the Air Force carried out in recent years are evidence to the fact that we will not hesitate to strike those who threaten our existence,” he said at the graduation ceremony for new IAF pilots at Hatzerim Air Force Base. “We operate forcefully against any attack upon us, and we also take preventive actions ahead of time.”

The mention of secret Air Force operations can only be understood by informed listeners as a reference to attacks on a Syrian nuclear reactor and other military targets in Syria, Lebanon and Sudan, which Israel has never formally admitted to carrying out but which it is widely assumed to be responsible for. Thus, Netanyahu's message appears to have been aimed at Iran.
