Testimony to a mother's love

Written by The Patriots Press on . Posted in World News

Publisher’s note:  In a world where many women might have made a lot of different decisions, including what I consider the unthinkable, this mom said “I love you” in the ultimate way; she knowingly risked her own life to save her baby.  Sadly, she did in fact lose her life; however, all she ever wanted was to be a mom, and she realized that desire before she died.

God bless you Qiu Yuanyuan, and all the other mothers around the world we don’t hear about that have done the same thing.

Fox News:  An up-and-coming TV host in Zhengzhou, China, always gave as much time as she could to her job, often working 14-hour days without complaint, a co-worker says.

But when Qiu Yuanyuan became pregnant in March, her focus switched over to her unborn child—so much so that when she found out she had late-stage womb cancer in July, she opted not to go forward with chemo to protect her baby, Shanghaiistreports.

In September she gave birth to 3.3-pound Niannian two months early via C-section, after which doctors tried to remove her tumor and begin chemo, but it was too late: Qiu died Wednesday at home on Niannian's 100th day, a traditional Chinese celebration, the South China Morning Post reports.

Canada has a "muslim Congress?"

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in World News

Publisher’s note:  Finally, a muslim steps forward and stands up to the "creeping sharia crowd.”  Professor Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the “Muslim Canadian Congress” stated "I'd tell them, this is Canada, and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you don’t like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives under sharia law,” said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at Mount Royal University in Calgary.”

I agree with him, however, I cannot say that I’m not troubled that Canada has such a thing as the "Muslim Canadian Congress,” and I'll bet no other group has their own "special" Congress.  If that isn’t a close step to sharia, I don’t know what is.  I might add, should the United States ever attempt to adopt such a separate Congress, I will be among the first to call for an all-out revolution by any means necessary to stop it.  Just sayin.'

Around the world beyond Ebola...

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Publisher’s note:  With few exceptions during the past several weeks there seems to be an almost total media block out of anything not related to the Ebola outbreak.  While the shootings in Canada and the US have garnered some attention, the continuing calamity in Ferguson rages on as does the continued strife in the mid-east.  And in case anyone has missed it, there is a very important election taking place across America.

Most importantly, while we have been focused on Ebola, things have been intensifying in the mid-east and tensions are heightening over the fatal shooting of a Palestinian terrorist…shot while hurling a Molotov Cocktail in the West Bank.

Fox News:  A powder keg atmosphere pervaded Jerusalem after an Israel Defense Forces soldier fatally shot a Palestinian teenager as he allegedly hurled a Molotov cocktail at cars in the West Bank in the latest violent incident that is stoking fears of a major Arab uprising.

Friday night's incident came after Arab youths and Israeli police clashed at the Temple Mount following afternoon prayers and two days after an Arab with a criminal record drove his car onto the crowded platform of the Jerusalem light railway system, crushing a three-month-old American baby girl to death and injuring seven more. That Wednesday incident was overshadowed by a terror attack the same day on the other side of the world, in Canada.

“The terror attacks that took place almost at the same time on opposite sides of the globe – Jerusalem and Ottawa – prove once again that terrorism is a worldwide plague that needs to be fought with force and without compromise," Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman wrote on his Facebook page. "We will... continue to be determined in the fight against terror and terrorists,” Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman wrote on his Facebook page.

Guilty of self-defense...executed in Iran

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Publisher’s note:  I have been watching this case for a long time.  How very sad it has ended this way.  It is important to note and remind my readers of some basic facts.  In islam, a woman’s testimony is half that of a man, which means this woman needed at least one other woman to corroborate her story.  Since virtually all women in islamic countries are terrified of what will happen to them if they speak out, almost none will.

It is also critical to point out that any married woman in islamic/sharia controlled countries that is raped is automatically accused and tried for adultery…and usually stoned to death.

There is little doubt that this woman protected herself from a savage rape.  Now she is dead due to ‘the sharia,’ a very savage and archaic set of laws geared against women.  May she rest in peace, and may the curse of sharia never take hold on the shores of the United States.

Fox News:  TEHRAN, Iran –  Iran hanged a woman on Saturday who was convicted of murdering a man she alleged was trying to rape her, drawing swift international condemnation for a prosecution several countries described as flawed.

Reyhaneh Jabbari was hanged at dawn for premeditated murder, the official IRNA news agency reported. It quoted a statement issued by the Tehran Prosecutor Office Saturday that rejected the claim of attempted rape and said that all evidence proved that Jabbari had plotted to kill Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi, a former intelligence agent.

The United Nations as well as Amnesty International and other human rights groups had called on Iran's judiciary to halt the execution, which was carried out after the country's Supreme Court upheld the verdict. The victim's family could have saved Jabbari's life by accepting blood money but they refused to do so.

According to her 2009 sentencing, Jabbari, 27, stabbed Sarbandi in the back in 2007 after purchasing a knife two days earlier.

Russian Jet to US Navy..."I'm not touching you."

Written by Fox News on . Posted in World News

Publisher’s note:  In an obvious attempt to flip a “military bird” at a very weak and indecisive administration, a Russian Su 24 Fighter Jet played a game of “I’m not touching you” with our guided missile destroyer, the USS Donald Cook in the Black Sea.

The lack of leadership in this nation is astounding.  I hear calls of impeachment and I ask why?  What good would it do?  Even removing the most dangerous potus in our nation’s history wouldn’t help because where would that leave us?!

The current line-up of succession if we could get rid of him is as follows; Biden, Boehner, Leahy, Kerry, Lew, Hagel, and Holder.  We could not be more screwed.

Fox News:  A Russian warplane made several close-range passes by an American warship in the Black Sea over the weekend, in what the Pentagon is calling a "provocative" move amid escalating tensions in the region.

The jet, a Russian Su-24, made numerous low-altitude passes on Saturday over the USS Donald Cook, a guided-missile Navy destroyer in the western Black Sea, the Pentagon confirmed.

According to officials, the jet made a total of 12 passes over the course of 90 minutes. It did not once respond to multiple contacts and warnings from the USS Donald Cook, despite the fact that the U.S. Navy ship was able to reach the cockpit directly.

The Pentagon says that the jet had no visible missiles attached to its wings and that the incident ended without any exchange of fire.

"This provocative and unprofessional Russian action is inconsistent with international protocols and previous agreements of a professional interaction between our militaries," Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren said.

The low altitude of the jet varied at times from "virtual sea level to several thousand feet," Warren said. The jet did not "buzz" the Cook, but "flew too close," he said.
