Gen. Dempsey makes huge gaffe

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in National News

Publisher’s note:  In what was very likely a moment he wishes he could take back, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey stated that the City of Ramadi in Iraq was “not symbolic in any way.”  Among many others taking exception to that statement was Gold Star Mother Debbie Lee whose son was killed there.  She said in part:

“I am shaking and tears are flowing down my cheeks as I watch the news and listen to the insensitive, pain inflicting comments made by you in regards to the fall of Ramadi."

“The city itself is not symbolic in any way” oh really are you willing to meet with me and with the families who have lost a son, daughter, husband, wife, father, mother, aunt, uncle, grandson, or teammate?”

Sometimes tattered, but never to be trampled

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in National News

Publisher’s note:  The Flag of the USA is not to be disrespected.  The 1st Amendment may offer the “right” to do so, but that doesn’t make it right.  What the student at Valdosta State University have been doing was and is the epitome of disrespect, and is a symptomatic of what our young people are being fed in academia now and during the past several decades.

Clearly, one Patriot, a Veteran named Michelle Manhart was not going to see our flag trampled by these students.  She took action, walked into the area of this despicable act, picked up the flag, and refused to see it trampled and disrespected further.

She should have received a medal, however she was arrested instead.  The University and students alike should hang their heads in shame for her treatment.

Freedom Outpost:  In a valiant display of patriotism, Michelle Manhart picked up an American flag that was being trampled on by a bunch of young university punks. Keep in mind that this had been going on for three days at Valdosta State University. When Michelle stood up and did what the campus and no one else was willing to do, she resisted turning the flag over to police and stood her ground, guarding the flag until she was overpowered by police and arrested.

Michelle told what happened in her Facebook post, which as of the writing of this article had nearly 27,000 shares:

“This first picture is what was going on at Valdosta "State" University for 3 days...The campus refused to do anything about it ... So we decided to get the flag and give it the respect it deserved...We just wanted to remove it and dispose of it properly...The American flag represents our Freedom why would you want to walk on that??? Please repost as much as possible make this go viral people need to see the truth...I wonder if "Donors" of VSU are ok with this blatant disrespect of the flag.”

Open carry in Texas soon to be law

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in National News

Publisher’s note:  It looks like the State of Texas is about to make history once again as it readies to allow the open carry of firearms by citizens.  The Texas House and Senate have both passed bills and it is now a matter of preparing and presenting a “squared up” version to the governor who is expected to sign the measure into law.

Fox News:  Austin –  Texas is poised to become the largest state in the U.S. to allow citizens to openly carry handguns, a change long sought by gun-rights activists.

The Texas House of Representatives on Friday voted 96-35 to allow residents with concealed-handgun licenses to openly carry their guns in public in holsters. A similar open-carry measure passed the Texas Senate last month; the two open-carry bills must be squared before being sent to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who has indicated support for the idea.

In contrast to its reputation for being permissive on firearms, Texas is one of six states, including California, New York and Florida, that currently bars citizens from openly carrying handguns. People who want to carry handguns in public on their person must obtain concealed-weapons permits and keep the weapons hidden.

No change at VA...More scandals

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in National News

Publisher’s note:  The endless cycle continues.  The agency responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of our veterans remains scandal ridden and corrupt.  It seems like yesterday that we heard about the cover up of men and women dying while awaiting treatment, but here we are only a year and one new VA boss later and conditions have gotten worse.

Fox News:  Nearly a year after a scandal rocked the Department of Veterans Affairs, revealing that the agency's centers nationwide were manipulating records to hide dangerously long patient wait times, the bad news just keeps on coming -- calling into question the agency’s promise to clean house.

Ignored claims, manipulated records, cost overruns and even one facility infested with insects and rodents are among the latest issues uncovered by a blistering VA Inspector General’s report. The auditor's probe found that more than 31,000 inquiries placed by veterans to the Philadelphia Regional VA office call center went ignored for more than 312 days, even though they were supposed to be answered in five. Perhaps even worse, claim dates were manipulated to hide delays, $2.2 million in improper payments were made because of duplicate records, 22,000 pieces of returned mail went ignored and some 16,600 documents involving patient records and dating back to 2011 were never scanned into the system.

Nebraska State Sen. Chambers on cops: says he'd "...shoot him first"

Written by David DiCrescenzo on . Posted in National News

Publisher's note:  It is stunning that we have arrived at a place where an elected official can get away with comments like this.  This is the fruit of the rhetoric of race baiters like Al Sharpton, AG Holder, and POTUS.

This self identified "nonviolent" man is just as guilty of the violence that is sure to ensue from his statements as he would be if he pulled the triggers himself when the carnage from what will be taken as permission from some starts in the coming warmer months.

Fox News:  “LINCOLN, Neb. — State Sen. Sen. Ernie Chambers isn’t backing down.  The state lawmaker from Omaha defiantly stood Thursday on the floor of the Nebraska Legislature and rejected many of his colleagues’ calls for him to apologize — or even resign — for comparing cops to ISIS terrorists and suggesting he’d shoot a cop if he weren’t nonviolent and had a gun.

“I meant what I said and I said what I meant,” Chambers said.”
